Ossian is a proposed floating offshore wind farm located approximately 80km off the east coast of Scotland (referred to as the Ossian Array), which has the potential to deliver up to 3.6GW of renewable energy to the UK grid once built.
To connect Ossian, we will seek consent to install cables from the wind farm to a landfall in Lincolnshire and then underground cables connecting to our new Ossian convertor stations. Underground cables will connect our converter stations to National Grid’s substations, near Spalding and Alford. These proposals, referred to as the Ossian Transmission Infrastructure, include the elements needed to connect the Ossian Array to the national grid in Lincolnshire.
We highly value meaningful engagement with local communities and stakeholders in order to help shape and inform the project. The proposals are at an early stage in their development, and we welcome the opportunity to discuss the project and to hear your views.
We now invite feedback on our early-stage proposals through non-statutory consultation, which includes an online webinar and face-to-face opportunities to find out more and have your say.
Consultation is open Monday 17 March to Sunday 13 April 2025. The deadline for comment is 11:59pm on Sunday 13 April 2025.
